" 02/27/09 To: SMALTZ’S HARLEY DAVIDSON FROM: STEVE DEWEY 9650 BIRWOOD ST PHILA PA 19115 WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE To all it may concern I walked into the show room on Feb. 7 2009 and was immediately greeted by Chris Roman in sales. I told him what I wanted and said I was shopping for the best price. I told him where I had been, and showed him my best price so far. After about a half hour, he beat that by a long shot... I wanted to give him a deposit right away, but decided to take his offer to other dealers to see if they could beat Smaltz’s price. I told him what I was going to do and he had no problem with it, no hard sell, no this is a limited time offer, just a genuine thank you and I hope you will come back. I talked to Terrance in parts and found him to be extremely helpful. I left and went back to give the other dealerships a crack at beating Smaltz’s price. Well it didn’t happen, so I called Chris and he put a courtesy hold on my bike with no deposit. He also said he would come in on his day off because I had a scheduling conflict. Turned out it wasn’t necessary. After that, it was all smiles on my part. I came back on Wednesday the11th of Feb. to purchase the bike and everyone I came in contact there from was courteous, friendly, helpful, and professional from the finance dept to service from parts to sales.Jason, Eric, Brian ands Gary in service was the best. Bob and Terrance in parts were great and Chris Roman in sale was the best sales representative I have ever dealt with he was genuine and a straight shooter. Overall my experience at Smaltz’s was the best large ticket purchase I have ever made in my 50 years. By far, it is the best motorcycle dealership I have ever been to including imports German or Japanese. And I have owned 4 previous motorcycles over the past 30 years. The service department asked me if I would come back to service my new motorcycle there and my response was, why would I go anywhere else, and I live 45 miles away. "

"To The Entire Smaltz's Family: I just wanted to write to say thank you to all of you for being such a great group of people. I just purchased a new FLHX Street Glide 105th Anniversary Motorcycle. "I first met Stretch soon after he bought the little H-D shop that used to be known as Marciano's. The first impression I got was that I'd just met a man who was a no BS sort of guy, and I was right. Stretch was from the old school and his handshake and his word meant something. It was just as good as if it were etched in stone. If anyone remembers what the place was like when he bought it and compare that with what it is today, you'll have an idea of what type of man Stretch was. He was passionate about H-D motorcycles, he was passionate about P.O.W. and veterans affairs, he was passionate about his country and passionate about people. I've bought 3 Fatboys from Smaltz's over the years and there are good people there, but to be as good as they are takes good leadership, leading by example, and that's what Stretch did. Stretch was "good people" and the folks there couldn't help but to be good working in his shadow. I guess it trickles down. I found out today that Stretch died after his long battle with cancer. That suxx. He will be missed. The size of the hole he has left behind is a testament to the life he lived. God Bless you, my friend. "

"Mike DiMauro spent half a day on Saturday, March 29th with me until he found me a bike, which blew me away! Just when I thought all was lost and was about to leave, his last comment, "Let me look up something", led up to a sale that put a smile on my face, and his. This is my 1st bike purchase from Smaltz's Harley Davidson and I'm sure it won't be my last. I'm hoping to put some nice Vance and Hines pipes on it soon and I sure could use a deal on those too. The Road King that I traded in on Saturday was purchased with Vance and Hines pipes that were installed by the selling dealer in 2006. Unfortunately their service department could not keep the bike from stalling and I had to bring it to Smaltz's H-D (on the selling dealer's recommendation) to get it fixed right. So I feel comfortable now that I will get the pipes installed at Smaltz's H-D. My last point to make is that EVERYONE working there actually seemed to be happy doing their jobs. (unlike other places-name withheld-Mike knows) This goes a long way in making customers feel at ease; working with pleasant sales people and supporting staff. Thanks! "

"I live on Staten Island, NY and took the 112 mile ONE WAY ride out to Smaltz's H-D to see if they were as good as I read on the Internet. I went there because they have a good reputation for being able to install pipes and the Harley race tuner and get it right the FIRST time. I was helped by the service manager Scott and one of his guys in service named Corey. After taking their time and trying to let me listen to a couple of V-Rods with new pipes, I decided to let Smaltz's do the set up. I am anxiously waiting for a call to hear when I can ride back for my install date. While I was there I let them clush out my brakes and couldn't be happier about how quick and reasonable they were. "10/2/06 That night I could not sleep!!! I kept thinking about the tragedy at the Nickel Mines School where 10 young innocent school girls were shot, 5 were injured & 5 were killed. I cried tears of sorrow & tears of anguish & kept asking God why did you allow this to happen? 10/15/06 That Sunday morning as my wife Verna & I were standing out at Dr. Harris's parking lot in Gap we witnessed 2,000 bikers & their companions ride by. As they waved back with smiles on there faces & tears in there eyes, I cried tears of praise and gratitude, & with all the prayers & money & people coming together to share in this tragedy. I asked God, is this why you let this happen? I want to take the time to THANK YOU Mr. Smaltz & all you friends for your generous & thoughtful gift that you gave our community that Sunday morning. "My Brother, Sister, and I decided to purchase a new muffler system for our Father for Christmas. We don't know too much about Harley-Davidsons but assumed that it shouldn't be that complicated. While on a 2,000 mile ride to St. Louis, I found a rain jacket on the sale rack that was much too big for me, but the purple and blue splash print matched my 02 Concord Wide Glide and I knew I had to have it. My search was on and first went to Chicago HD.com where they always offer specials and free shipping. "I had been dealing with Rick on add ons for the bike I was purchasing. (That great 97 dresser with 900 miles). When he left, so did all of my paper work. Norm spent a lot of time with me and we thought we had it all figured out, but the pipes were different and not in stock. It took another day and a lot of phone calls back and forth to get the original pipes I had wanted. (which were in stock) At this point everyone in sales, parts and service stepped up and worked very hard to get the bike ready for me to pick up on Friday night. I had waited a long tome to get it and didn't want to delay any longer. I can't thank every one at Smaltz enough for going above the call of duty to make me happy. "The guys down at Smaltz's HD are a bunch of caring individuals that still believe in service with a smile. I always have a good experience visiting the shop. I have had some bad experiences with other HD dealerships (one on Rt. 1 in Media comes to mind) that have an attitude about them, and that are not as inviting as Smaltz's. You get a fair deal and won't be price gouged as some other dealerships have done in the past.
